Questions before you ride
The details that matter before committing to a desert motorcycle tour.
Do I need a driving licence?
Yes. Riders must hold a valid driving licence appropriate for the motorcycle they will ride. Send us your licence situation before booking if you are unsure.
Are the motorcycles insured?
The motorcycles have bike insurance. That insurance does not provide personal insurance for the rider. You are responsible for arranging suitable personal travel, medical and riding insurance for your trip.
Is riding gear included?
Yes. Helmets and standard riding equipment are included. We confirm sizing and the equipment available for your group before the tour.
How many motorcycles do you have?
There are more than 10 enduro motorcycles available for the operation. Exact models and availability are confirmed for your dates.
What does the 4x4 support vehicle do?
On multi-day supported routes it carries luggage, food and supplies. If a motorcycle breaks down and cannot continue, the vehicle can transport the motorcycle.
Are meals included?
On the one-day Merzouga tour, lunch is excluded; Mohamed can take the group to a restaurant. On tours of two days or more that leave Merzouga, lunches are provided, while breakfast and dinner are included with the accommodation booked for the route.
Where do we sleep?
Accommodation is selected around the itinerary. Depending on the route, overnight stops can be in Merzouga, Ramlia, Ouzina, Tafraoute Sidi Ali, Zagora or another suitable location.
Are the routes fixed?
No. The published route shows the intended direction and overnight points. Sand, weather, track access, safety and rider level can require changes. The local guide makes those adjustments.
Is this an official Dakar Rally tour?
No. Some desert tracks in southern Morocco are commonly described as Dakar-style or historic rally pistes, but Touring Enduro Morocco is not affiliated with the Dakar Rally or its organizers.
Can you organize a private group tour?
Yes. The tours are private and can be planned around the number of riding days, the group’s experience and the preferred balance of dunes, sand and piste.
